Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association
The Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (ARTA) is a group organized to advocate for retired teachers on the issues that affect their well-being. ARTA has a representative on the Alberta Council on Aging and is a member of the Canadian Association of Retired Teachers. ARTA currently has over 9,000 members who are organized into 15 branches throughout Alberta and one Satellite Branch in BC.

The founding of The Canadian Association of Retired Teachers (ACER-CART) was the result of inter-provincial support and encouragement on the part of retired and active teacher associations across Canada.

The East Central Alberta Catholic Schools (ECACS) Regional Division currently serves approximately 3,300 students attending 8 schools. Schools are located in the communitites of Castor, Halkirk, Provost, Stettler, Vermilion and Wainwright. Outreach programs are situated in Vermilion and Wainwright.
