Mascot School District No. 4372
Mascot School was built in 1929, on CPR land, on the SE ¼ of 33-35-5
W4, across the road from the Henry Ott farm. The first board members
were: Dick McNern, Curly Dahl and Em. Beezly.
Teachers were: Mrs. Sirois 1929-30; Mrs. Bruce (Marion) McNern 1930-33; Miss Helen Ballentine (Hannah) 1933-34; Miss Doris Gray (Fenton) 1934- 36; Mrs. Irene Valleau 1936-37; Miss Dorothy Fox (Atkinson) 1937-39; Miss Lillian Cameron (Goddard) 1939-49; Mr. Worthy Darling 1940-41; Miss Dolly Glascoe 1943-44; Miss Zelma Anderson (Gilbertson) 1943-44; Miss Elsie Ford (McIntee) 1944-45; Miss Evelyn Ford (Zajic) 1946-47; Miss Kathleen Younker 1947; Miss Jeanette Heffren (Murray) 1947-49; Mrs. Margaret Overbo 1949-50; Mr. Clarence Procnau 1949-50; Miss Hendrickson 1950-51; Mr. Nick Kinasewich 1951-52.
Students attending Mascot were: Gordon MacLachlan; Lawrence and Enid Dahl; Isabelle LaFrance; Elsie Harris; Gilbert, Jean and Jimmy Bushy; Jean and Hazel McNern; Elsie Murray and Vern Wood.
Mascot School building was moved north of Lloyd Smale’s and became Sligo School. The building is still used by community organizations.
